Dear colleagues,
Aleksandra Sojka, Ilke Toygür, and Katjana Gattermann are organizing a workshop on “Polarisation in European Union politics: The 2024 European Parliament elections and beyond” at the ECPR Joint Sessions next year. The event will take place at Charles University in Prague between 20 and 23 May 2025.
They invite papers that engage with the evolving nature of polarisation in EP elections and its effect on EU politics more broadly. This workshop aims to foster an empirically informed discussion encouraging approaches from political behaviour, political communication, public opinion, and party competition. It is open to diverse theoretical perspectives on the impact of polarisation in EU politics in the 2024 elections and beyond. They are also looking into possibilities of putting together a special issue comprising (some of) the workshop papers. More information can be found here: https://ecpr.eu/Events/Event/WorkshopDetails/15738
The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 21 November 2024 (see details and further information here: https://ecpr.eu/Events/Event/Content?ID=1420&EventID=274).
Kind regards, also on behalf of the co-organisers,
Katjana
