Starting from September 2023 (flexible), we are hiring a
post-doctoral researcher (2 years & 11 month, 100%)
at the Department of Government, University of Vienna.
We offer a vibrant research environment in one of the world’s most
livable cities. The annual gross salary is roughly 60,000 Euros, and can
be higher with relevant (postdoc) work experience. The position comes
with some teaching obligation (two courses/semester).
Job description:
Active participation in research, teaching and administration, this implies
- Developing and strengthening an independent research profile
- Conducting independent research with the aim of publication in
leading international journals (SSCI)
- Responsibility for project applications and acquisition of
third-party funding
- Independent teaching of courses at BA and MA level in accordance
with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement
- Involvement in the administration of the department
- Supervision of BA and MA students
Profile:
- PhD in political science
- Own research agenda related to research at the Department of
Government, especially on political representation, party
competition, political institutions or political behavior
- Excellent knowledge of quantitative social science methods in data
collection and analysis including causal inference
- Internationally visible publication record or advanced manuscripts
(revise & resubmit) in leading SSCI journals
- High level of written and oral communication skills
- Very good command of written and spoken English
