Dear colleagues,

We would be grateful if you would share the following Call for Submissions with any graduate students, postdocs and junior faculty in your department whose research focuses on international security, broadly defined.

We, the Junior Scholars in International Security (JSISE) Workshophttps://sites.google.com/view/jsise-workshop/home organizers, are happy to announce that the call for proposals for Autumn 2023 is open. Our workshop is a virtual, interdisciplinary, junior-scholar-run workshop. We aim to provide a venue for junior scholars (including graduate students, post-docs, and untenured faculty) to present works-in-progress or give practice job talks and solicit feedback from their peers and faculty.

The two-hour workshop is held monthly starting in October. 3  to 4 panellists present their work for 15 minutes with ample time for discussant and audience feedback. The panels are grouped by themes within international security to foster exchange and networking possibilities. In addition, we give presenters the chance to give a  practice job talk. Both formats are held in different time slots to accommodate various time zones.

We invite junior scholars from Political Science, International Relations, and related disciplines with an interest in International Security (broadly defined) to participate. The workshop is committed to promoting the work and voices of Black, Indigenous, POC, LGBTQ+, and women scholars.

If you are interested in presenting your work at JSISE this semester, please fill out this submissionhttps://forms.gle/QgVEgKYfDXsp7rxV7 form by the 25th of September, 10pm EST.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Best wishes,
Sara Daub, on behalf of the JSISE Team
