Postdoctoral Position at IIR Prague, INTERFER project

The Institute of International Relations in Prague invites applications for a:

  • new colleague for the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher under the project INTERFER, which studies foreign interference by foreign powers in the context of current geopolitical and technological changes. The Institute of International Relations in Prague is a partner in this project led by Charles University Prague

Application deadline soon: 12 October 2025

What we offer:

  • A full-time job until December 2028. Remuneration: 64 600 CZK gross/monthly

Expected responsibilities and duties:

  • Design and start-to-end implement partial research projects (from research design, through data collection to article publishing).
  • Disseminate research results in the form of organising events for policy makers and experts.
  • Conduct expert interviews (if applicable).
  • Initiate and collaborate on publishing articles in high-quality journals.
  • Participate in grant applications within the team, either as a lead researcher or team member.
  • Present research at international conferences.

We are looking for:

  • A PhD in political science, European studies, sociology, technology studies or a related field. The degree must be obtained before the start of the employment and should not be older than seven years at the time of the application call.
  • A proven theoretical and empirical familiarity in the field of digital technology or security technology.
  • Experience with publishing academic articles.
  • Experience with presenting research at international conferences. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and diverse environment.
