g-the-local-in-social-cohesion

Social cohesion, a central theme in our discussions, finds its foundation in
individuals' sense of belonging within their local communities. While often
examined on a larger scale, this conference delves into the intricate
connections that shape social cohesion at the local level, transcending
specific group affiliations. Our gathering aims to foster interdisciplinary
conversations among researchers in fields including human geography,
political science, sociology, spatial planning, and economics.

Key Conference Themes:

•            Contextualizing Social Cohesion: A Comparative Perspective
from Africa

•            Local Cohesion, Living Conditions, and Social Infrastructure

•            Outgroup Dynamics and Local Social Cohesion

•            Local Social Cohesion in the Neighborhood

•            Local Social Cohesion and Governance

•            Relational Perspectives on Local Social Cohesion

•            Local Social Cohesion in Cross-Border Contexts

Please refer to the attached preliminary agenda for more details.

We are pleased to inform you that the conference is free of charge. Kindly
register through the conference website to secure your spot.

Best regards,
