I am looking for a PhD researcher in the field of Computational Social
Science
to join my Chair at the University of Marburg.

The position commences in September 2023, comes with a very light
teaching load (one course per semester), and is for three years
initially (with the option for extension).
Knowledge of German is not required, and I strongly encourage
international students to apply. The MARA Graduate School
https://www.uni-marburg.de/en/mara has a vibrant and diverse
international community, making it an ideal environment for
international students.
The position initially offers payment at TV-H E13 50%, with the
potential for a later increase to TV-H E13 75%.

The application deadline is *18 June 2023 (midnight).

Profile:
*    - Completed academic university degree (M.A., M.Sc., or comparable)
in a social science subject (e.g. political science, sociology,
communication science) or STEM subject (e.g. computer science)
    - Interest in an ambitious PhD project in the field of
computational social science
    - Interest in active exchange with the scientific research
community (e.g. through participation in workshops, summer schools, or
conferences)
    - Affinity to quantitative methods; experience with machine
learning techniques, programming of online experiments, automated text
and image analysis, or version control with Git are an asset
    - Advanced knowledge of the programming languages R and/or Python
or willingness to acquire such knowledge
    - Enthusiasm for teamwork and ability to work independently*
