Dear colleagues,
Davide Vittori and I are pleased chair the panel “Disentangling Causal
Effects in the Face of Challenges to Liberal Democracy”
at the upcoming
Italian Political Science Association (SISP) Conference, which will take
place in Naples from 4 to 6 September 2025.
We warmly invite paper proposals that address methodological or empirical
challenges in identifying causal effects in political science, especially
in the context of democratic backsliding, institutional instability, or
norm violations.
