Hello,

This opportunity is part of the “Transformation of Political (Dis-)order” program and specifically supports the project “Protecting Democracy in Times of Autocratization and Polarization.”
Key details include:
- Position & Duration: Research Assistant until 31.12.2026.
- Project Focus: Analyzing the drivers and consequences of autocratization to identify strategies that protect democracy, social cohesion, and peace.
- Candidate Profile: Master’s students in social sciences (e.g., political science, international relations, sociology) or quantitative/computational fields (e.g., statistics, computer science, data analytics).
- Requirements: Proficiency in data processing tools (R or Stata) with a focus on data management and visualization; demonstrated interest in topics such as polarization, democracy, conflict, digitalization, and autocratization. Additional skills in statistical analysis, survey or experimental design, literature research, and web scraping are advantageous.
- Work Conditions: €15 per hour, flexible working hours (37 hours per month), with on-site presence two days per week.
