Dear colleagues,

Dr. Lillian Frost (Virginia Tech) and I would like to invite you to submit abstracts for our ECPR Joint Sessions workshop on 'Perspectives on Citizenship and Legal Institutions in Postcolonial Contexts'https://ecpr.eu/Events/Event/PanelDetails/11369. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: law-implementation gaps, law-enforcing processes, group interactions with the courts, and civil society responses to the law concerning diverse policies related to citizenship. The postcolonial focus highlights the enduring colonial impacts on these states’ legal systems and citizenship regimes. We aim to link work on these topics in Europe to those in the Global South.

We are open to diverse theoretical and methodological backgrounds. We welcome submissions from PhD candidates and early-career researchers as well as established scholars in the field.

The deadline for submissions is 2 February 2022 via the ECPR website. The workshop is currently planned as an in-person event in Edinburgh from 19-22 April 2022 (and will be virtual if circumstances change).

You can find further information about the workshop here: https://ecpr.eu/Events/Event/PanelDetails/11369

Best wishes.
