We are happy to announce the third edition of EuroWEPS – a workshop that will once again bring together political scientists in Europe to carefully engage with research that focuses on causal inference. EuroWEPS is inspired by working groups like CAPERS, WGAPE, NEWEPS, and CaliWEPS, which have built communities that provide detailed feedback on working papers and research designs. We welcome full-length papers and research designs/pre-analysis plans from all subfields within political science and from researchers at all stages in their careers, including PhD students. As the meeting will be online, we welcome work from researchers based in the Central European Time zone +/- 4 hours.

Our third meeting will focus on empirical work with an emphasis on causal identification and careful design and analysis. We welcome all work that focuses on the broadly-conceived substantive areas within political science. We will meet online for one day to discuss a set of working papers and research designs, which will be circulated and read in advance (no presentations). Papers in early stages and detailed research designs are particularly welcome.

EuroWEPS II will take place on Friday April 23, 2021. Applications with papers, research designs, or pre-analysis plans should be submitted by March 5, 2021 via email to euroweps@gmail.commailto:euroweps@gmail.com. Women, minorities, and 1st generation academics are especially encouraged to apply. We will notify successful applicants by Friday, March 26.

EuroWEPS Organizers:

Jens Olav Dahlgaard (Copenhagen Business School)

Florian Foos    (London School of Economics and Political Science)

Anselm Hager (Humboldt University Berlin)

Alexandra Scacco (WZB Berlin Social Science Center)
