Dear Colleagues,

I welcome applicants for a postdoctoral position (2-3 years) to join my
European Research Council (ERC) project (1.5 million Euro, 2023-2028) on
“Participation and Representation in the Digital Age,” hosted by Ben-Gurion
University in Israel.

This postdoctoral research position can be conducted largely remotely for
candidates who prefer to be physically located in universities throughout
the European Union (EU), EU-affiliated countries, the United States, and
Canada. For candidates who wish to be located in Israel, office space can
be arranged at Ben-Gurion University
https://in.bgu.ac.il/en/pages/default.aspx—which is consistently highly
ranked for student life by Israeli students—as well as in other Israeli
universities and institutions throughout the country.

The project investigates the implications of the global trend of the past
few decades that voting has declined, while non-electoral
participation—like protest, and digital activism—has increased. See
additional information about this project (here
https://www.jenniferoser.com/erc-starting-project) and its international
collaborators (here https://www.jenniferoser.com/team-3).

The research-focused role of this full-time position is to produce
high-impact peer-reviewed research based on the construction of a
harmonized dataset of cross-national surveys on political participation.

The salary is a competitive ERC-funded position (approximately 65,000 Euro
per year for a full-time position).

Applications submitted by *May 25, 2023 *are guaranteed full consideration.
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is
filled.

.

I welcome informal inquiries - including from current graduate students
(MA, PhD) and postdocs who may be interested to join the project’s
multi-method team in the coming 5 years of the project.

Best wishes,

Jenny
