I am recruiting a (second) postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Politics of Climate Change and Health to work with me as part of the Public and Political Engagement Working Group (WG5) of The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Changehttps://lancetcountdown.org/ (funded by the Wellcome Trust). The Research Fellow will be based in the School of Governmenthttps://www.birmingham.ac.uk/schools/government, University of Birmingham and affiliated with the Birmingham Institute for Sustainability and Climate Actionhttps://www.birmingham.ac.uk/research/centres-institutes/birmingham-institute-for-sustainability-and-climate-action-bisca (BISCA).

The work will involve leading cutting-edge research at the intersection of politics, health, and climate change – helping to lead on public/political indicators in the annual global Lancet Countdown report, and working with our international network of regional centres on issues related to the politics of climate change and health.

The role offers:

  • Fixed term contract for more than three years (41 months) at Grade 8
  • The opportunity to be part of an exciting global interdisciplinary research project
  • A focus on understanding how societies engage with, and respond to, climate change-health challenges
  • Developing and leading a research agenda on the politics of climate change and health
  • Helping to lead the working group on public and political engagement of the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change
