One-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in “Politics of Economic and Social Inequality” at the University of Zurich
The Political Science Department at the University of Zurich invites applications for a 12-month postdoc research fellowship in “Politics of Economic and Social Inequality.” The fellowship is part of the interdisciplinary University Research Priority Program (URPP) “Equality of Opportunity”https://www.urpp-equality.uzh.ch/en.html. The postdoctoral fellow is an integral part of the URPP, and based in the Political Science Department (IPZ)https://www.ipz.uzh.ch/en.html.
Your responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to pursue independent research, in relation to the core topics of the URPP. Collaboration with other members of the URPP-IPZ group is very much encouraged. This is a research position without teaching obligation, considerable research support and the possibility to collaborate on the analysis of original data collected within the URPP political science group. We look for a postdoctoral fellow who complements our research groups (directed by Profs. Kurer, Häusermann and Walter) with original research projects, and who contributes actively to our discussions and current research in the areas of economic and social inequality; risk, income and opportunity inequalities; social mobility and politics; or the perception and politicization of inequalities.
Your profile
- A PhD in Political Science (or a related field with a strong substantive focus on the politics of inequality).
- Innovative research agenda in the field of inequality studies
- Strong interest in and ability for excellent academic research, proven e.g. through internationally visible publications, high-potential working papers, original data collection, third-party funding, or related research activities.
- Strong methodological skills
- Dedication and ability to work both constructively within a team as well as independently.
