Dear colleagues,
The University of York is hiring four new Lecturers in the Department of
Politics in permanent contracts.
The new appointments will undertake research of the highest international
standards in their specialist field, enhance and complement the research
standing and culture of the Department, and contribute to the University’s
commitment to the public good. They will also play a full part in course
design, teaching, research supervision, and administration in the
Department. We seek to appoint outstanding candidates with a proven track
record of research and teaching in one of our core research sub-fields:
Comparative Politics and Public Policy, Political Economy, Political
Theory, or International Studies.
Although the posts are open to sub-field, we are hoping to make at least
one appointment in Political Theory and one in Public Policy. We are
particularly interested in appointing candidates who combine sub-field
expertise with a specialism in one of the following areas: democratic
challenges; environmental sustainability, inclusion, and justice; health
politics and policy.
These posts provide an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, friendly,
and ambitious department, one of the largest Politics departments in the
UK. The posts are available from 1 September 2022 and are on an open
contract.
