This project investigates the challenges that arise as countries seek to develop local-currency bond markets while simultaneously funding economic development. Area of Research: The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct original research under the supervision of Professor Mark Manger and collaborate with other researchers. Description of duties: Responsibilities include managing and analyzing project data, publishing research related to the project, and developing and coordinating research activities. There is no teaching obligation as part of the appointment. The Postdoctoral Fellow will devote 75 percent of their time to working on the project, with the remainder devoted to independent research and publishing. This position is open to applicants regardless of citizenship and nationality, although Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents will be given priority. Logistical support is available for candidates requiring a Canadian work permit. Salary: Postdoctoral stipend of $50,000 per year plus benefits Required Qualifications: Candidates should have a demonstrated research interest in international political economy, including substantive knowledge of international finance or a closely related field of global public policy. Candidates with experience in developing countries are especially welcome to apply. * PhD in political science, international relations, public policy, development studies, economics, or a related field is required by the start date.
