The digital transformation has shaped the work of the Institute for
Information Management (ifib) in Bremen, Germany, since its founding twenty
years ago. For our current project, we are looking for a (Doctoral)
Researcher in Computer Science and/or Computational Social Science (100%).
Our project aims to understand how social movements use social media
platforms and how to better adapt platforms to the needs of the movements.
We are developing and evaluating software in an interdisciplinary team. In
the project, we work closely with members from different social movements
like the environmental movement.
The position is initially limited to three years. An extension is possible
and desired. The researcher is encouraged to pursue a Ph.D. at the Faculty
of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Bremen.
Your profile:
Relevant university degree (Master or equivalent), e.g., in Computer
Science, Computational Social Science, Media Informatics, Human-Computer
Interaction, Digital Media, or a related field.
Programming skills in at least one object-oriented programming language
such as Python, Ruby, Java, or equivalent.
Experience in participatory software development and the development of
mobile apps and/or web applications would also be desirable.
German C1 certificate for non-native speakers
