Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the call for applications for the Summer School for Women* in Political Methodology (http://summerschoolwpm.orghttp://summerschoolwpm.org/), to be held in Basel, Switzerland on 16 – 22 July, 2023. The application deadline is March 27 at midnight (CEST).

Description
The Summer School aims to train researchers who identify as women or non-binary in advanced social science methodology. Hosted by the Political Science Department of the University of Basel, the 7-day program offers hands-on training on core computational methods, as well as opportunities for networking and collaboration.
Having taken place for the first time in 2017, this Summer School is part of a larger long-term initiative to increase women participation in this research field where women are typically underrepresented. Following the Visions in Methodology example, we aim to establish a network of women methodologists working in Europe, specifically targeted at providing training, mentorship, and network opportunities as a means of strengthening their career prospects in academia and beyond.

Eligibility
The summer school is designed for PhD students, as well as post-docs and early-career researchers who identify as women, and who work in the field of Political Science or related disciplines. Participation in the summer school requires some prior statistical knowledge, as well as a basic R skills.

Costs
The summer school offers several fellowships (funded by the University of Basel). The fellowship includes tuition, accommodation, lunch and two dinners. Where no university funding is available, we can contribute up to 250 CHF to travel costs. Accommodation will be arranged in 2-bed rooms.
