Dear All,
Could you please share in the EPSS mailing list the following Call for
Papers for our upcoming conference to be held in March 2026?
Thank you for your time.
Best regards,
Ipek Demirsu Di Biase
Dear colleagues,
We are delighted to invite you to submit a paper proposal for the upcoming
conference:
Political Emotions in Times of Conflict: Climate, Inequality, and
Democracy
Faculty of Political and Social Science, Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS),
Florence, Italy
Dates: 11–12 March 2026
Organizers: Manuela Caiani, Ipek Demirsu, Nikolaos Saridakis, Giovanni
Daniele Starita, Batuhan Eren
Keynote lectures by:
Åsa Wettergren (University of Gothenburg)
Anna Durnova (University of Vienna)
Luigi Pellizzoni (Scuola Normale Superiore)
The conference aims to explore how emotions shape political life in
contexts marked by climate crisis, deepening inequalities, and democratic
tensions. We welcome contributions from a wide range of
disciplines—including political sociology, political science, social
movement studies, environmental politics, public policy, and related
fields—that address the intersections between emotions, conflict, and
societal transformation.
We particularly encourage proposals that engage empirically or
theoretically with the themes outlined in the CfP which can be found in the
attachment.
Paper proposals (max 400 words) should be submitted by 31 December 2025 to:
ipek.demirsudibiase@sns.it
We very much hope you will consider contributing to what promises to be a
stimulating and interdisciplinary event set in the heart of Florence.
Warm regards,
the Organizing Committee
