PolisReflects - Student Journal of International Relations
Contributions in English and German
Deadline: 15 February
PolisReflects https://polis180.org/highlights/polisreflects/, the Competence Center Public IT and the N3GZ Young Professionals Network on Digital Government are looking for student paper contributions and reviewers for the spring issue on digital sovereignty!

PolisReflects offers students a forum to share academic insights in the topics they are passionate about. We aim to make these insights heard, in academic debates and beyond. A two-phase anonymous peer review supports students in developing their research and publication skills. We aim to encourage debates with experts and policy-makers after publication. PolisReflects follows the mission of Polis180 https://polis180.org/, a grassroots think tank above party lines, to empower young people in foreign and European policy debates. We are happy to collaborate with the Competence Center Public IT (ÖFIT https://oeffentliche-it.de/). ÖFIT is a German think tank focusing on the digitization of government and society, supported by Fraunhofer FOKUS and the Federal Ministry of the Interior. N3GZ  https://n3gz.org/is a German interdisciplinary and intersectoral young professionals network on digital government

Digital sovereignty
Digital sovereignty seems to represent the holy grail of many current debates on digital policy. As society, governments, companies and individuals increasingly rely on digital technology, control and availability of these technologies become a question of (strategic) autonomy. Interference by and dependency on actors such as companies or foreign state actors for the development, components, production, operation and know-how of digital technologies may infringe on other actors’ sovereignty. Nonetheless, digital sovereignty remains an ambiguous concept with interpretations ranging from cybersecurity to industrial, trade, and competition policy. You will find more details in the call.
