Zeppelin University (ZU) in Friedrichshafen at Lake Constance is a
state-approved privately endowed university with BA, MA, and PhD
programs in the fields of economics, culture and politics. It is
dedicated to multidisciplinarity, internationality and individuality in
both research and teaching.

Zeppelin University invites applications for the position of an

Endowed Chair in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science & Analytics (full
professor)

within the Department of Political & Social Sciences. The position is to
be filled at the earliest possible opportunity.

The successful applicant will represent the subject area of AI, Data
Science & Analytics in teaching and research in its full range, with a
strong focus on applications in the social sciences and economics.
Possible research topics include, but are not limited to, the management
and processing of large and/or non-structured data sets (“big data”)
using modern statistical and AI methods; research in computational
complexity; as well as research on the simulation and regulation of
political, social, and economic processes, structures and organizations.

Zeppelin University strives to create and contribute to future-oriented
research topics. Therefore, the willingness to participate in the
University’s research cluster “Computational Social Science” is desirable.

Applicants should have a proven track record of excellent research,
demonstrated by papers published in internationally recognized journals
with peer review, research monographs with internationally reputed
publishers, or successful research grant applications. Furthermore, we
expect a strong commitment to teaching as well as the willingness to
offer courses in English at the Bachelor, Master and PhD level. The
applicant should be able to bridge different disciplines in research and
teaching, and should be willing to contribute to collaborative grant
proposals. A willingness to participate in academic self-administration
is expected.

To be eligible for the position, applicants must satisfy the employment
conditions according to § 47 Higher Education Act of the state of
Baden-Württemberg.
