Postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d)
The position is to be filled as an Assistant Professorship (100%, TV-L E13
or 100%, A13: "Beamt:in auf Zeit")
Job Description
- The independent implementation of a postdoctoral research project in
a thematic area relevant to research at the chair.
- Contribution to administrative tasks at the chair and projects
located at the chair.
- Publication of research results and application for third-party
funding (individually and in teams).
- Provision of teaching in the area of comparative politics (5
Semesterwochenstunden; equivalent to 2 x 90-minute weekly sessions per
semester).
Job Requirements
- An excellent dissertation in a discipline relevant for comparative
social science research (completed or close to completion).
- Research goals related to core themes of the ERC-funded project
CIVILSPACE (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101001458) based at the
chair are desirable. These include the comparative study of legal frameworks
regulating civil society organizations and the reform of such frameworks.
The candidates research may also focus on the comparative study of
organizational responses to crises in European democracies, as well as the
comparative study of civil society, interest groups, non-profits, democratic
backsliding and illiberal practices in European countries more generally.
- A good knowledge of cross-national data collection, management and
analysis. Experience in the design and implementation of data coding
protocols as well as advanced quantitative methods are desirable.
- Fluency in English. Good German skills as well as fluency in other
European languages are desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work
independently and in teams. Experience in the management of funded projects
is desirable.
Our Offer
- Pay is based on TV-L ,Entgeltgruppe E 13. The work load is 40,1
hours a week.
- The post ought to be filled by 1st October 2022 and is restricted to
a duration of three years (probation 6 months). The position can be extended
for three more years.
