UCL Department of Political Science Vacancy - Lecturer/Associate Professor in International Relations

The Department of Political Science/School of Public Policy at UCL is seeking to fill a position in International Relations at the Lecturer or Associate Professor level (equivalent of a U.S. tenure-track Assistant / Associate Professor position).

We are seeking applicants with teaching and research interests that complement and extend existing strengths in the department. Whilst the position is open to all sub-fields in international relations, we particularly welcome applicants with expertise on major power politics, international relations of developing countries, global environmental politics, foreign policy of China, politics of international law, global digital governance, or the politics of international finance.

Candidates must indicate whether they are applying at the Lecturer or Associate Professor level. We welcome applications from candidates from under-represented backgrounds. We also welcome applications from candidates using a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches.

This is an open ended appointment which will commence on the 1st September 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Key Requirements
The successful candidate must have a PhD in Political Science or related subject (candidates nearing completion may be considered).

Proven ability to undertake high-quality academic research of internationally-recognised calibre, research expertise that complements and extends on existing strengths in the department and experience of teaching relevant to the department's modules at undergraduate or postgraduate level are essential.

Candidates seeking to be appointed at the Associate Professor (Grade 9) level are expected to demonstrate a publication record commensurate with the Associate Professor level; have made a substantial contribution to the advancement of their discipline through research; and demonstrate evidence of excellence in education including designing and delivering modules to a high standard.
