I am looking for three postdocs to work with me in my Leverhulme Trust project on the political economy and politics of climate change vulnerability (Research Leadership Award entitled “Varieties of Climate Vulnerability”).
Start/End
The expected start date is 1 October 2023 (some flexibility is allowed).
The position is temporary until 30 September 2027.
Tasks and Opportunities
The three postdocs (Senior Research Officers) will be part of a team at Essex that includes the Principal Investigator (Dr. Genovese), two full-time doctoral students (to be hired in 2024) and a part-time administrator.
The three postdocs will each take control of one of three parts of the research agenda, while still sharing responsibilities with the PI for the overall flow of the project. The expected tasks include:
- theoretically and descriptively mapping climate vulnerability cross-nationally;
- designing deskwork and preparing fieldwork in selected countries;
- collecting and analyzing original survey questions, focus groups interviews, and observational data;
- disseminating the ongoing work at conferences and workshops;
- collaborating with other affiliated members of the project;
- publishing the underlying findings in top international journals/presses.
