Dear colleagues,

the department of political science at the University of Salzburg intends to appoint a University Professor in Methods of Political Science. The professorship should cover the area of methods of political science in both research and teaching. This denomination is set to strengthen the department of political science’s profile as methodologically cutting-edge and international department. Excellent methodological expertise in the area of causal inference based on observational data is an asset. Moreover, a substantive research orientation that complements the current offerings of the political science department is desired. Examples of such a substantive orientation are the areas Conflict Studies, Environment and Sustainability or Political Psychology. It is expected that the successful candidate has a proven track record of excellence in research (documented among other things by peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals) and university-level teaching.
