Job opportunity: 3-year Postdoc on political trust (FT, $105k+) at
Griffith University, Brisbane
We are looking to recruit a stellar researcher with PoliSci, PolComm,
Public Policy, Sociology or Econ background as a Postdoctoral Research
Fellow (3 years FT, $105k - $148k/yr) to work with Professor AJ Brown and
Dr Max Grömping (both Griffith University) on an Australian Research
Council Discovery Project ‘Mapping & Harnessing Public Mistrust
https://dataportal.arc.gov.au/NCGP/Web/Grant/Grant/DP230101777’.
The project sets out to develop and test new measures of the content of
trust, including the positive values of mistrust in citizen political
attitudes and experience. It will develop experimental designs, a
longitudinal survey, and case studies to examine the drivers of trust and
mistrust. The results will inform concrete solutions to key policy reform
dilemmas, including in the areas of disinformation and anti-corruption,
providing better answers for sustaining public trust overall.
The Postdoc will lead key aspects of the project. The person will have
excellent research design and quant methods skills, and some project
management experience. Ideally, they’ll have some expertise in experimental
designs and/or computational text analysis.
