Two prestigious Fellowships for the PhD program in Political Science at UNC-Chapel Hill for the study of European/EU politics. The Ruth Mitchell Pitts Fellowships are $10,000 annually for up to 5-years in addition to the normal $20,000 university annual fellowship. They include one or two semesters as a visiting scholar at the European University Institute in professor Hooghe and professor Marks' TRANSNATIONAL ERC.

Each Ruth Mitchell Pitts Fellowship complements the UNC PhD. fellowship to $30,000 annually (including tuition and health insurance) for up to five years. Each Fellowship also covers two semesters as a visiting scholar at the European University Institute, Florence, in Liesbet Hooghe and Gary Marks' Transnational ERC Lab.
