*Announcement: * *The University Carlos III Madrid (UC3M) and the Instituto Carlos III - Juan March invite applications for a doctoral researcher position in the ERC-funded project POLARCHATS (Prof. Simon Chauchard). * This is a four-year, fully funded PhD position on a project focused on misinformation and its consequences in the Global South. You will also be able to receive additional skills training, to travel to India and/or Brazil, and to develop an independent research agenda. Applicants must have earned a recent Masters’ degree in political science, data science, computational social science, psychology, sociology, economics, or a cognate subject (feel free to consult with the PI at simon.chauchard@uc3m.es if you are not sure whether you are eligible). The successful applicant will be a core member of the POLARCHATS team, and they will contribute to some of the analyses at the core of the project. PhD research on the POLARCHATS project will focus on quantitative studies in India and Brazil and will involve the coordination of data collection in one or both of these countries, as well as their analyses.
