British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship expression of interest

I am looking for a candidate (within three years of their PhD award) who wants to work with me on mental health and politics. The internal deadline for submitting the expression of interest is Monday 24th July, 5pm. This means that interested candidates should get in touch with me ideally by mid-July (luca.bernardi@liverpool.ac.uk). The postdoc will be funded by the British Academy for three years and the earliest start date is 1st September 2024. The final deadline for the application is 4th October 2023, 5pm.

The expression of interest must include: project title; abstract (100 words); reason for choosing the University of Liverpool as the host institution (150 words); previous research (300 words); proposed programme and plan of action (800 words); planned outputs / plans for publication and dissemination (300 words); brief CV (2-page max); list of publications (1-page max).

I am particularly interested in candidates with at least one of these two profiles:

  1. A candidate with a background in political science / political psychology / social psychology / clinical psychology, who has a strong expertise in some of the following: survey design and analysis; structural equation modelling; survey experiments; lab experiments.

  2. A candidate with a background in agenda-setting and political representation, who works with public opinion, interest groups, media and policy data and who has a strong expertise in some of the following: quantitative text analysis; media and social media data analysis; topic modelling; survey experiments.

Please note that I can only sponsor one candidate.
