Dear all,

I would like to take the opportunity to draw your attention on our call for the panel "Attitudes Towards and Political Representation of Sexual and Gender Minorities" which I am organising together with Alberto López Ortega for this year's ECPR General Conference in Prague (4-8 September) and which is endorsed by the Standing Group on Political Representation.

Attitudes Towards and Political Representation of Sexual and Gender Minorities

The question of whether and to what extent sexual and gender minorities are politically represented remains understudied. With LGBTQ+ individuals becoming an increasingly visible electorate in Western democracies, the question of their political representation is by no means trivial. This Panel seeks Papers studying the representative claims made on behalf of LGBTQ+ individuals and how these minorities assess the claims made on their behalf. It also seeks Papers analysing the political attitudes toward and of sexual and gender minorities, groups which are often overlooked in the public sphere.

Chaired by L. Constantin Wurthmann, GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences (constantin.wurthmann@gesis.orgmailto:constantin.wurthmann@gesis.org), and Alberto López Ortega, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (a.lopez.ortega@vu.nlhttps://research.vu.nl/en/persons/alberto-l%C3%B3pez-ortega).

We would kindly ask abstracts (max. 300 words) with an abstract title, author details and a maximum of 6 keywords to be submitted no later than 23d of February.

Best,

Constantin Wurthmann
