Dear colleagues,

The School of Government and Public Policy seeks to appoint two Chancellor's Fellows, one in Computational Political Science and one in Ethics and Political Philosophy.

Both positions are at the Lecturer/Assistant Professor or Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor levels but with the additional bonus of reduced teaching for the duration of the fellowship.

At the School of Government and Public Policy we are focussed on questions of political behaviour, public policy and political economy and international relations, and use a range of quantitative methods to investigate these.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

Closing date is 12 April 2023

Computational Political Science.

We’d love to hear from you if your research uses computational methods to investigate key political questions. Examples of the methods we would be interested in include: Big Data analysis, computational text analysis, agent-based modelling, network analysis and spatial econometrics. Strong programming skills and the ability to teach programming to our students in data science for politics are vital.

Ethics and Political Philosophy

We’d love to hear from you if do research in ethics and political philosophy. We are particularly interested in the application of ethics to public policy, political institutions, and technology.

An appreciation of empirical political science, and the ability to collaborate with empirical researchers, is important. Some background in areas such as game theory, social choice and political economy would also be desirable.
