The Walsh School of Foreign Service and the Government Department seek
qualified applicants for a tenure-line professor in Russian/Eastern
European politics. The search is open-rank. For candidates at the advanced
assistant professor level who have a demonstrated record of research and
teaching, accelerated tenure clocks or appointments at the associate
professor level may be considered. The successful candidate will be jointly
appointed in the School of Foreign Service (SFS) and the Department of
Government.
Candidates who draw from multiple methodological approaches within both
comparative politics and international relations subfields of political
science are encouraged to apply. The position will support and strengthen
the research agenda and curricula of SFS and the Government Department.
Ideal candidates will have the ability to conduct primary research in
Russian or other languages of the region and have an active research agenda
on Russian/Eastern European politics. Ideally, they will teach courses on
domestic politics, international relations and/or political economy of
Russia/Eastern Europe. Candidates must have completed their PhDs in
political science or a related doctoral degree by the time of appointment
for the fall 2023 semester.
