Dear all,

I am pleased to invite you to submit your abstracts for the workshop on 'Blind Spots of International Financial Institutions: New Directions in Research' as part of EWIS 2023 to be held between 12 and 14 July 2023 in Amsterdam. The deadline for submissions is 5 February and accepted papers will be notified by 6 March.

The workshop aims to bring together recent research on the current blind spots of International Financial Institutions (IFIs). Papers looking at previously neglected aspects of the impact of and policymaking processes within IFIs are invited. Topics might include (but are not limited to) gendered consequences of IFI programs, the ‘good governance’ turn at the IFIs and their engagement with anti-corruption policies, climate policy and the impact of these institutions on national climate policies, combat against racial discrimination, reduction of economic inequality, and the processes through which macroeconomic data are produced and (re)used. The workshop endorses methodological and theoretical pluralism and welcomes papers using a variety of qualitative, quantitative, mixed, and critical methodologies. Depending on the interest, contributions might be submitted as part of a special issue in a general interest International Relations journal.

You can submit your abstracts via the submission tool of EWIS: https://eisa-net.org/ewis-2023-abstract-submission/

Please feel free to disseminate the call on your professional and academic networks and do not hesitate to get in touch in case you have any questions. I am looking forward to receiving your submissions.

Best wishes,

Saliha Metinsoy
