Dear all,
I am looking for a PhD student for my DFG funded project "The Causes and Consequences of Prime Minister Replacements" (75 percent employment, TV-L 13) at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Researchhttps://www.mzes.uni-mannheim.de/d7/en at the University of Mannheim. The position is open from September 2024 and is limited to three years.
The project investigates when and why Prime Ministers leave office, and how this effects party competition and voters' perceptions of parties.
Candidates should be interested in Comparative politics. They should also be competent in (or willing to study) quantitative methods with a focus on event-history models, spatial econometrics or (experimental) survey methods.
I strongly encourage that candidates pursue their PhD within the framework of Mannheim's CDSS Graduate Schoolhttps://www.uni-mannheim.de/gess/programs/cdss/ program. To be admitted to this program, candidates need to have applied to the CDSS by 31 March 2024.
More information on the job can be found herehttps://www.mzes.uni-mannheim.de/d7/en/news/items/in-the-research-project-the-causes-and-consequences-of-prime-ministerial-replacement-types-call-for-applications-for-a.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to get in touch.
Best,
Roni
