Dear colleagues,

I am looking for a PhD student in Political Science or Sociology to join my chair on Methods in Empirical Social Research at the Free University of Berlin.

The position is on the TV-L E13 pay scale (75%, ca. 39,000 Euro p.a.) with initial appointment for 5 years, starting in October 2023. The application deadline is 19.06.2023

Profile:

  • A masters in Political Science, Sociology, or related discipline;

  • Experience with quantitative research methods

  • Interest in the application of quantitative methods to important social scientific problems;

  • Interest in active scientific exchange, including participation in summer schools and conferences

  • Knowledge of R and/or Python, or willingness to learn;

Candidates are expected to conduct research for their PhD on methods in social sciences, and to collaborate on research and teaching activities at the chair.
