The Sustainable Social Policy and Welfare States Research Hubhttps://www.lse.ac.uk/social-policy/research/Research-clusters/Sustainable-Social-Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science is hosting its inaugural workshop on Tuesday 24th June 2025.

The workshop aims to bring together researchers who are working on the social dimensions of climate change and the environment, and policy responses to these challenges, broadly defined. In doing so, we aim to showcase cutting edge research, provide researchers with valuable feedback, and offer a platform for scholars to build their networks and explore future research directions in this growing field.

To this end, we are holding an open-call for research papers to be presented at the workshop. To do so, please submit a 500 word abstract herehttps://forms.gle/nBFpm7Xta1mg8Bhh9. The deadline for full consideration is 14th March 2025.

The abstract should clearly outline the research question, theoretical framework, empirical approach, as well as the contributions the research makes to the field. The inclusion of one table or figure is permitted if it enhances the abstract. We will only consider unpublished research; please do not submit papers that have a positive decision at an academic journal, are accepted, or forthcoming elsewhere.

Presenting authors are expected to share their completed papers with other conference participants two weeks before the conference.

Accepted presenters will be provided with breakfast, lunch, and refreshments through the workshop, as well as an after-workshop drinks reception and dinner free of charge. There is no registration fee for the workshop.

We are looking forward to reading your applications and hopefully joining us in London!

All the best,

Liam
