My name is Dr. Albert Wolf and I am the Deputy Director of the Fred Cuny Peace and Conflict Summer Program. On behalf of RIT-Kosovo, we are currently in the process of recruiting students for our Fred Cuny Peace and Conflict Summer Program which will take place from June 20 to July 22.

Briefly, RIT-Kosovo (A.U.K.) was founded through a partnership with Rochester Institute of Technology and the American University in Kosovo Foundation in 2003.  We are a not-for-profit, higher education institution offering degrees from RIT-NY with an international faculty.

Because of your partnership with so many institutions outside of the U.S., I imagine that we share similar visions for our students. We are currently in the process of recruiting students for our Fred Cuny Peace and Conflict Summer Program which will take place on June 20 to July 22.

Why a Summer Program at RIT Kosovo?

It provides an experience your students will never forget.  It opens with a regional study tour with highlights in Albania, Montenegro, Croatia (Dubrovnik) and Bosnia.  Courses are taught by senior civilian and military officials, NGO activists and academics with hands-on experience in the Balkans, Middle East and elsewhere.  Graduate and undergraduate students come from the Balkans, Europe, United States and further abroad.

Credited Courses from Rochester Institute of Technology; College of LIBERAL ARTS- taught in English and are fully accredited in US and Kosovo.

Courses taught in English and fully accredited in the United States and Kosovo include:

  1. Terrorism and Countering Violent Extremism (3- credit)

  2.   War, Diplomacy and State-Building  (3- credit)

  3. Peace Keeping and Conflict Transformation (3- credit)

  4. Ethics, International Law and Human Rights (3- credit)

  5. Introduction to the Albanian Language (non- credit)

The program introduces participants to:

Practical, hands-on experience in political reporting, policy analysis and planning;
Managing peace-keeping operations at the tactical and strategic level;
Ethical dimensions of decision making in peace operation;
Negotiating outcomes, and applying international law in humanitarian interventions;
Role-playing opportunities based on real-world examples; and,
Internships and service learning with the Kosovo government, international missions, and NGOs.

For more information click on our website https://www.rit.edu/kosovo/summerprogram

Participants earn six transferable undergraduate semester credits from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York.

The tuition for the program is 3,995 Euro (approximately $4,500). This includes the study tour, room and board, 2 courses, seminars, workshop, and tours within in Kosovo.

In the meantime, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss future possibilities of collaboration that are mutually beneficial for our institutions and students.

Please let me know if this is of interest to your institution and the person with whom we might discuss these possibilities further.

I look forward to your reply and possible future collaboration.

Sincerely,

Albert B. Wolf, PhD.
