Dear colleagues, I would like to share a call for papers for a panel on *Direct democracy, political parties and representative institutions* at the next conference of the Italian Political Science Association (SISP) in Naples (4-6 September 2025). The panel aims to gather contributions addressing the connection between different forms and means of democratic representation broadly defined, including referendums, political parties and representative institutions. Both theoretical and empirical contributions are welcome. The panel is part of the section on Parties, Leaders, Public Opinion and Elections.
