UCL Conflict & Change PhD Workshop: 11-12 March 2024

Dear all,

This is to let you know about the annual Conflict & Change PhD workshop at University College London. The Conflict & Change PhD Workshop is taking place for the sixth time in 2024 and is specifically tailored towards PhD students who work in the fields of peace and conflict research and contentious politics. The workshop has become one of the main points of contact among conflict PhDs in the UK, Europe and beyond. Among the 28 participants last year, we had PhD researchers from more than 15 different institutions including the London School of Economics and Political Science, University of Essex, Harvard University, Hertie School of Governance, University of Konstanz, University of Oxford, Cornell University, European University Institute, Humboldt University Berlin, University of Oslo among others.

The C&C PhD workshop offers a great opportunity to meet other PhDs working on similar issues and every participant will receive feedback from senior academics of the Conflict & Changehttps://www.conflictandchange.org/ group within the Department of Political Science at UCL.
The workshop will be held 11-12 March 2024 and brings together doctoral students from various disciplines in the social sciences, humanities, and beyond, such as political science, economics, sociology, geography, and computer science. Papers on all issues related to peace and conflict, contentious politics, mobilisation, human rights, and migration are welcome.

You can submit your abstract by 8th December via this link https://www.conflictandchange.org/phdworkshop2024. If there are any questions, feel free to get in touch via yilin.su@ucl.ac.ukmailto:yilin.su@ucl.ac.uk. The call for abstracts is also attached to this email.
Limited funding for travel and accommodation is available and will be allocated upon acceptance of the abstract.

We look forward to receiving your applications!

If you know of anyone who might be interested, feel free to share the call for abstracts in your networks as well!

Dear all,

the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality" at the University
of Konstanz invites applications for Visiting Fellows for a duration of
2 to 6 months each in the academic year 2024/2025.Application deadline
is January 23 2024.

The Cluster’s researchers investigate inequality in areas such as
education, employment and political rights. They study how people
perceive these inequalities, how they lead to collective mobilization,
and how political actors respond to them.

Fellowships are open to researchers with an established track record and
international visibility, as well as a keen interest in the Cluster’s
concepts and lines of research. We are looking for scholars with an
established track record in inequality research broadly defined and in
fields directly related to the Cluster’s research agenda, though not
necessarily in disciplines already represented at the Cluster.

Fellows will have the opportunity to pursue research projects of their
own, become members of the Cluster and actively participate in Cluster
activities.
