Dear colleagues,
Michal Smrek (Uppsala, Sweden) and I are pleased to announce a call for proposals for an upcoming ECPR Joint Sessions workshop on "Sexuality and political participation: expanding methodological and empirical frontiers".
We welcome contributions that will significantly improve our understanding of the role sexuality plays as a driver of political participation/preferences, especially in relation to other group identities, like gender, race, social class, place residence or education.
We are also looking for methodological contributions that allow us to validate the existing strategies for LGBTQ+ identification (e.g., partner matching) or propose innovative measurement alternatives that can expand our capacity to identify these hard-to-research individuals. Comparative studies with intersectional lenses are particularly welcome.
The workshop targets a wide range of scholars working in the areas of Political Behaviour and Comparative Politics. We actively encourage submissions from both junior (PhD candidates, post-doctoral researchers) and senior political scientists. We particularly welcome applications from researchers belonging to social groups that continue to be underrepresented within academia including, but not limited to, women, people of colour, first-generation scholars, and researchers from the Global South
Submissions can be made via the ECPR website. The submission deadline is 2 February 2022.
Further information about the panel and how to make a submission can be found here:

Best wishes,
Stuart
