Dear colleagues,

We are currently seeking a researcher for a 2-year, full-time position in the research project "SUCCESS: Gender-Gap in Political Endurance", led by Professor Ragnhild Louise Muriaas at the University of Bergen. The position is fully funded and will be based at the Department of Government, UiB. The researcher will join the vibrant SUCCESS team (project websitehttps://www.gendersuccess.com/) and the national survey methods infrastructure  DIGSSCORE // KODEMhttps://www.uib.no/en/digsscore.

About the project
The project investigates gendered patterns in political careers, with a particular focus on why women may have shorter political careers than men, and how this affects representation and democratic outcomes. This position will contribute primarily to the development and analysis of survey data, with the opportunity to engage in cross-national comparative work and collaborate with a strong international research team.

Main research areas: Gender and politics, political careers, representation, survey methodology, comparative politics

Methods: Survey design and implementation, statistical analysis, cross-national comparisons

Candidate profile:
We are looking for applicants with a PhD in political science or a closely related discipline and with strong skills in survey research and quantitative methods. Experience with gender research and comparative approaches is an advantage, as is a collaborative and self-driven working style.

The position is for a duration of two years. The deadline for applications is 5 May 2025.
