Dear EPSA list,

I am offering a half-day/after-office online workshop on “Using AI for Text Analysis in Rhttps://instats.org/seminar/using-ai-for-text-analysis-an-introduct2” (intro) with instatshttps://instats.org/, starting at 5pm (CET) on February 10, 2025.

The workshop is designed to be accessible for beginners in R. Key topics and learning objectives covered in the intro workshop include:

•        An introduction to "text as data" in R, both pre- and post-LLMs.
•        Building, managing, and analyzing text corpuses with AI tools.
•        Implementing topic modeling and understanding word embeddings with AI assistance.
•        Demonstrating R packages such as gptstudio, chattr, and tidychatmodels for AI-assisted text analysis.
•        Exploring API integration for ChatGPT models and utilizing GitHub Copilot for code assistance.
•        Locally using open-source LLMs within R for text classification tasks.
•        Techniques for validating results to ensure robust analysis.
•        Effective illustration and presentation of results.
•        A primer on ethical considerations, precautions, and reproducibility in AI-driven research.

I also offer a workshop on Feb 18 covering advanced applications such as fine-tuning open-source LLMs, for more information, see here.https://instats.org/structuredcourse/using-ai-for-text-analysis-basic-and-ad2
